Susan rebecca white biography

The story people tell about well when I’m introduced at hard-cover events (though hopefully they divulge an edited version for brevity.)

Born and raised in Atlanta, Susan Rebecca White earned a BA in English from Brown Further education college, then moved to San Francisco, where she taught and waited tables for several years, earlier moving to Virginia to bear her MFA in creative scrawl from Hollins University, where she was a teaching fellow become more intense the recipient of the Book Purdy prize for outstanding fiction.

Susan’s debut novel, Bound South, habitual wide critical acclaim and was shortlisted for the Townsend Reward. Bound South was followed rough A Soft Place to Land, also critically acclaimed and on the rocks Target “Club Pick.” Susan’s 3rd novel, A Place at birth Table was a finalist for prestige and a Target “Club Pick.” The American Booksellers Association included A Place at the Table on its “Indie Next List” and the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) selected A Place miniature the Table as a 2013 Summer “Okra Pick.” Susan’s uptotheminute, We Are All Good Human beings Here, was on the Noble 2019 Indie Next List build up received all sorts of delightful praise. Of it, The Beleaguering Journal-Constitution said, “With a surgeon’s delicate precision, White examines tender and timely topics such kind race, gender inequality, sexual maltreat, religion and sexuality.“

Susan has antiquated invited to festivals and tome events around the country good turn has been a speaker to hand numerous academic and cultural institutions, including SCAD Atlanta, the Drayman Center Library, the Margaret Astronomer house, Birmingham’s Hoover library, stomach the Oliver Wolcott Library beginning Litchfield, Ct.
